Terms of Service
Last updated: June 10, 2026
These Terms of Service (these "Terms") set out the conditions for using the iPhone application "c-Lock" (the "App") provided by the developer ("we," "us," or "our"). All customers who use the App (each, a "User") shall use the App only after agreeing to these Terms.
Article 1 (Application)
- These Terms apply to all relationships between us and Users concerning use of the App.
- A User is deemed to have agreed to these Terms upon downloading, installing, or using the App.
- Any individual provisions or other guidelines that we post within the App from time to time form part of these Terms.
Article 2 (What the App Provides)
The App is a focus-support app centered on restricting the use of apps and websites you designate—via Apple's Screen Time (Family Controls / Managed Settings) APIs—for a set period of time or on a defined schedule. Specific functions include timers, tasks, scheduled locks, usage records, theme settings, and a subscription (the Focus plan), among others.
Article 3 (Operating Environment)
- The App is intended for iPhones running iOS 18.0 or later. The operating environment may be changed without prior notice when we deem it necessary.
- The User bears the communication equipment, communication costs, and other expenses necessary to use the App.
Article 4 (Permission Grants)
To use the App's main functions, the User may be asked to grant the permissions below. Please understand in advance that if you do not grant them, some or all of the related functions may be unavailable.
- Screen Time / Family Controls: Used to restrict the apps, categories, and websites you designate.
- Notifications: Used for timer completion notifications, task deadline notifications, and the like.
- App Tracking Transparency: Used to confirm whether ads may be personalized.
Article 5 (Fees and Paid Plans)
- The App can be downloaded and used for free. Some features become available by purchasing the paid "Focus plan" (a monthly / annual subscription or a one-time purchase).
- Purchase, billing, cancellation, and refunds for paid plans are governed by the App Store terms and practices established by Apple.
- Unless you cancel, a subscription automatically renews at the end of each applicable period. You can cancel at any time from "Settings > Apple ID > Subscriptions" on your iPhone.
- We may change the content, fees, and conditions of paid plans within a reasonable scope. If there is a significant change, we will give advance notice within the App or on this website.
Article 6 (Display of Advertisements)
On the App's free plan, we may display ads using an ad-delivery service provided by Google LLC (such as Google AdMob). For details on how related information is handled, please review our "Privacy Policy" and the privacy policies of each ad-delivery provider.
Article 7 (Prohibited Acts)
In using the App, the User shall not engage in any of the following acts.
- Acts that violate laws or public order and morals
- Acts related to criminal activity
- Acts of altering or deleting the content of the App or the information or services available through the App
- Acts that interfere with the operation of the App or place an excessive load on servers
- Acts of reverse engineering, decompiling, disassembling, or analyzing the App, the source code constituting the App, or any part thereof
- Acts that infringe the intellectual property rights, portrait rights, privacy, reputation, or other rights or interests of us, other Users, or third parties
- Acts of redistributing, reselling, or lending the App for commercial purposes
- Acts of using the App to unilaterally restrict another person's smartphone usage without that person's consent
- Any other acts that we deem inappropriate
Article 8 (Suspension of the App, etc.)
- We may suspend or interrupt all or part of the App without giving prior notice to Users if we determine that any of the following applies.
- When performing maintenance, inspection, or updates of the App
- When provision of the App becomes difficult due to force majeure such as earthquake, lightning, fire, power outage, or other natural disaster
- When provision of the App becomes difficult due to specification changes or service suspension by Apple or other third parties
- In any other case where we determine that provision of the App is difficult
- We shall not be liable for any disadvantage or damage incurred by a User or a third party due to the suspension or interruption of the App, except in cases of our willful misconduct or gross negligence.
Article 9 (Intellectual Property Rights)
Copyrights and all other intellectual property rights in the App and all related content (source code, design, text, images, logos, icons, etc.) belong to us or to the rightful owners. The license to use the App under these Terms does not mean a license to use any intellectual property rights related to the App.
Article 10 (Disclaimer)
- We do not warrant, expressly or impliedly, that the App is free from defects in fact or in law (including defects, errors or bugs, or infringements relating to safety, reliability, accuracy, completeness, effectiveness, fitness for a particular purpose, security, and the like).
- The Screen Time / Family Controls features used by the App depend on Apple's specifications. Certain system apps and the like may be outside the scope of restriction due to those specifications, and we do not warrant their behavior.
- We shall not be liable to compensate for any damage incurred by a User arising from use of or inability to use the App, except in cases of our willful misconduct or gross negligence.
- Even where our liability is not fully excluded under the Consumer Contract Act or other laws, our liability for damages shall be capped at the amount the User paid to us (or through Apple) for the App's paid plan during the 12 months immediately preceding the occurrence of the damage.
Article 11 (Self-Responsibility for the Usage Environment)
The User shall use the App at their own responsibility, and we are not liable for any damage arising from forgetting to release the App's lock function, misconfiguration, operational mistakes, and the like (including delays in business communications, delays in emergency calls, and the like). In an emergency, please use the iPhone's built-in functions (the Phone app, Emergency SOS, etc.).
Article 12 (Changes to the Terms)
We may change these Terms without notice to Users when we deem it necessary. The revised Terms take effect from the time they are posted within the App or on this website, and if a User continues to use the App after the change, the User is deemed to have agreed to that change.
Article 13 (Governing Law and Jurisdiction)
- Japanese law shall be the governing law for the interpretation and application of these Terms.
- In the event of a dispute concerning the App or these Terms, the court having jurisdiction over our location shall be the exclusive agreed court of first instance.
